Hello everyone and Happy Friday!

Our runner up project JANES Lot 2 presold last week. Janes Community is located on 128th Avenue in Kirkland next door to Rose Hill Elementary School.  Congratulations to the new buyers and Welcome to our neighborhood!

Covid Job-site Safety is Merit’s top priority.

Happy May, Everyone!

Our Merit Homes field team is back in full swing managing our construction sites! Subcontractors are getting used to their new normal, checking in to our job sites with QR code’s, using protection gear and hand sanitizing stations.

Staging coming in at SOHO 1 and Llacuna on May 22nd! Join our Public Virtual Open Houses on May 23rd! 

Our Sales Manager will be hosting virtual tours of SOHO lot 1 and Llacuna at 1pm on Saturday May 23rd, and you will have the ability to see them from the comfort of your own home! If you want to see properties first hand, please contact Feisal Ramjee, to schedule a visit on or after May 23rd!

Low- risk construction work resumes, few words from Attain Housing and new homes coming soon!

Hello everyone! Hope you all are staying safe and healthy!

Governor Inslee has ordered all residential low risk construction in Washington State to resume as per April 24th. As a result, ALL Merit Homes construction sites will resume, adhering to the new COVID-19 Job Site Requirements. Our office staff, will continue to work from home until further notice. Our Merit Team is working on adjusting safety requirements, before crews arrive next week including COVID-19 exposure control, social distancing; hygiene and sanitation procedures. Hopefully, with construction back we can have our upcoming projects on the market within the next month.

Consider donating to Attain Housing. In this recent outbreak of Covid -19,  Merit Homes has donated $10 000 to their organization and now encouraging others to donate. Wouldn’t it be great to have many small donors to match up to ours?  Here are some words from Eric Sanford at Attain:

Attain Housing clients need your help. As with so many families right now, these client families living in our transitional housing apartments are reeling from job loss and lack of income because of the COVID-19 shutdown. These families are transitioning from homelessness; they have no savings, no safety net, and no network to call on for help. Imagine the stress these families experience not knowing where to turn. We can help them with many services, but we can’t help them pay their rent. That’s where you come in.

How You Can Help
Thanks to the leadership of local businesses and community groups like Merit Homes, Windermere Real Estate, Kirkland Kiwanis, and Overlake Park Presbyterian Church, we have been able to launch the “Help a Neighbor” fund for rental relief and supportive services. This will help to ease the burden on these families with so little during these uncertain times. Our transitional housing client households pay rent based on their monthly income. We work closely with our clients to address crises and troubleshoot solutions. Our goal is to minimize the stress on our clients during this COVID-19 shutdown. Evelyn, like many of our other clients, lost her job recently and told us she couldn’t make this month’s rent. Together, she and her case manager worked out what she could pay now, with the hope that she could pay the rest later, over an extended time. While this is a burden on the organization, our priority is our clients.
Please help alleviate the stress of our transitional housing families by “adopting” a neighboring property and allowing us to continue to provide them housing and other supportive services that are needed in times like these.

Stunning views over Olympic mountains – SOHO community coming soon!

Merit News, 

Hello Everyone, We hope you and your families have been able to stay safe and are surviving well, or as well as can be expected given the circumstances.  Although we’re unable to build our homes presently, we’re grateful our team has remained safe.  In this time, we’ve been able to make the most of it by doing the few field tasks we can do safely and we’re allowed to do, such as maintaining our job sites, drying in the couple homes under construction.  Our office team has been able to much of their work, albeit at home thanks to the miracle of cloud computing.  This work consists of continuing to develop our architectural plans, push our permits along for upcoming projects, and dusting off to work on those moth-balled office projects we haven’t had time to do in busier *times.  In addition, we’ve been busy making preparations for returning to work safely.  This includes creating new Covid -19 job site safety signs, provisioning PPE for our team and lots of communication with our trade partners.

Consider donating to Attain Housing, Merit Homes is a proud sponsor of this organization and they are struggling right now in the current circumstances providing affordable housing to homeless families and the most vulnerable among us in this crisis.

Merit is hoping construction will start up soon so our team can finalize the beautiful new properties we have coming soon. Stay safe, together we will get through this!
