Josh’s responsibilities within Merit Homes include land acquisition, entitlements, finance, marketing, and as well as administrative functions such as company communications and office staff management.
Josh brings more than 15 years of varied experience to Merit Homes. After several years in the software industry working in both technical and account management roles, Josh pursued his interest in residential land development, forming Continental Divide Development in 2001 in a joint venture with Greg Griffis. Josh quickly developed a talent for the business.
Josh is passionate about building a better home, continually improving our customer experience and building a better business too. More specifically his focus on improving business processes, hiring the best employees, partnering with the best suppliers and subcontractors, and leveraging the right technology to achieve greater efficiencies has help establish Merit Homes as a strong and forward leaning home builder on the Eastside. Having a background in technology, he’s been a leader in adopting new “cloud based” project management tools used in the field for scheduling and customer selections, which has significantly improved field communications and efficiencies keeping all parties in sync, shortened the time it takes to build a home and increased customer satisfaction.
Josh is a graduate of Western Washington University and has a degree in Business Management with a concentration in Management Information Systems and has completed course work in Construction Management at the University of Washington. Josh lives in Kirkland with his wife Anne and their two children.
